The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy has indicated that it will move to court on Monday to challenge the award of a contract to KPMG for auditing the voters register.

CORD’S Secretariat Chief Executive Officer Norman Magaya argues that IEBC did not set audit rules against which the audit firm will carry out the exercise.

He says IEBC is yet to integrate the register, which should then be audited.

“They do not have full biometrics, so that in itself is a hiccup on what we are going to audit,” Magaya asserted. “One, the methodology is not agreed on and the parameters are not set.”

He further lamented over what he termed as lack of stakeholder involvement – more so the politicians – in coming up with regulations of the exercise.

he auditing exercise will take 30 days after which a report will be forwarded to Parliament.

There were 11 audit firms that competed for the contract, according to Chiloba.
