Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has assured Kenyans of their security during this festive season and the electioneering period, noting that police are on high alert.

Nkaissery urged Kenyans to be patriotic and work together with the police to ensure that is achieved.

“Election is an event, it will come and go but Kenyans and the country will remain,” Nkaissery affirmed.

He was speaking when he officially opened the Police Sacco Plaza at Ngara, Nairobi.

The major security operation would be towards ensuring that all spots which attract big gatherings tighten up security and deal with any possible loopholes that might be used by wrong elements.

Large gatherings include worship centres like beaches at the Coast, Churches, entertainment spots, bus parks, markets and shopping malls and centres like commercial arcades that could be easy prey by criminals.
