The National Assembly Committee on Appointments is set to begin the vetting of Cabinet Secretary Nominees starting on Thursday next week.
 
The committee held talks yesterday, under the leadership of the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula who also Chairs the committee.
 
Wetang’ula has asked Members of the Committee to prepare for long hours of thorough scrutiny of the candidates while emphasizing adherence to instruments of the law and, in particular, Chapter 6 of the constitution on leadership and integrity.
 
The Committee on Appointment is deputized by the Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss.
 
Speaker Wetangula has confirmed that Opiyo Wandayi, who was a member of the Committee will not be part of the vetting panel following his nomination as the CS for Energy.
