The Senate will today hold a special sitting to consider the report on the vetting of Inspector General of Police nominee Douglas Kanja. Speaker Amason Kingi in a gazette notice said the senate will then dispense with the report tomorrow before the House adjourns until September 3. The National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations committee will this morning go through the draft report before it is tabled before both the Senate and the National Assembly by the respective chairpersons. Baringo Senator William Cheptumo is expected to table the report in the senate while Narok West MP Gabriel Tongoyo will present the report in the National Assembly. The National Assembly which is currently in recess will also be forced to convene for a special sitting this week to consider the report. Kanja was vetted last week by a joint parliamentary committee.
